Regional knowledge symposium “Energy efficiency of buildings in the Balkan region” was held in Belgrade, Serbia from 30 to 31 of May, 2023”. The symposium was organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with support from the governments of Germany and Slovakia, and the government of Japan within the UNDP “Climate Promise” initiative. The event gathered representatives of governments, financial institutions, international organizations, the private sector, and the academic community. The purpose of the event was to support Serbia and the countries of the Western Balkans + region, to accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency measures in buildings that help reduce energy supply costs, mitigate climate change and protect the environment, and the health of citizens.

Alexandra Dimova Manchevska, project manager at the UNDP office in North Macedonia, participated at the symposium, and talked about “How the countries can achieve a change in behavior to reduce energy demand and stimulate more efficient use of energy at the level of individual consumers”.
